Planning Appeals

GSP can offer to assist with any type of appeal, including written representations, hearings and public inquiries.

GSP sustains a remarkably high success rate at appeal by comparison to the national average, despite the issues often being difficult and finely balanced.

If a client has received an enforcement notice, a refusal or wishes to appeal against a condition, GSP will start by assessing the client’s likely chance of success and, where necessary, advise on other possibilities such as the resubmission of an amended scheme. GSP will never encourage a client to make an appeal where it is considered that there is little chance of success.

GSP’s experience in dealing with appeals will take the pressure from clients in managing appeals, including coordinating where necessary with other experts. Our appeal cases are fully detailed and carefully prepared so that the Planning Inspectors are assisted in every way possible to reach their decision. We work closely with clients to ensure that they are able to fully participate in the process.

In the case of public inquiries, we undertake direct instruction of Counsel so you do not need to involve a solicitor.
